Floor lamp Through the familiar
The Through the Habitual floor lamp is a poetic object born from a dialogue with nature and history. Its concept emerged during walks through abandoned woodland areas of Turkey, where ancient ruins give way to new life—to shrub branches and tender flower sprouts breaking through the stonework.
The lampshade's form, reminiscent of ruins, breaks the canons of the classic textile shade. It becomes a metaphor—a symbol of how organic life and nature penetrate rigid frameworks of tradition.
The materials of the floor lamp also carry profound meaning: travertine limestone—a stone that is itself an embodiment of antiquity—meets modern technology and environmental awareness here. The shade's base is made from PLA, a corn-based bioplastic, underscoring the author's pursuit of harmony between the past and the future.
